Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has decided to file a case against Dhaka WASA’s executive engineer Iqbal Ahmed Majumder as it found unhealthy environment inside the regional office and numerous Aedes mosquito larvae there.
“We have decided to file regular case against Dhaka WASA’s executive engineer Iqbal Ahmed Majumder due to unhealthy environment and numerous grounds of Aedes mosquito larvae inside the regional office,” said DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam.
Atiqul Islam said if Aedes larvae are found at any government or private building, no one is being exempted and necessary legal action will be taken including fines against them.
Earlier, addressing as the chief guest at a discussion at Walk-Up High School, the DNCC Mayor he said the educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities should be cleaned before they are reopened.
“It is not possible for anyone alone to eradicate Aedes mosquitoes, but it is necessary to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and control the dengue situation by keeping our houses and surroundings clean through the joint efforts of all,” he said.
Mayor Atiqul Islam also addressed a discussion on Aedes mosquito and dengue control at South Bishil Adarsha Bidya Niketan in the morning.
