Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, distributed relief among helpless people in different places of Rangpur and Gaibandha on Thursday.
Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed Bengali national dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided relief through its social organisation ‘Shuvasangha’.As many as 300 distressed families received relief from Shuvasangha at Khalashpir Bangabandhu Degree College in Pirganj Upazila of Rangpur.
Sufiya Begum, one of the relief recipients, said, “I will pass some days with the relief provided by you (Shuvasangha). I pray for the welfare of Bashundhara Group.”

Pirganj AC Land Alauddin Bhuiyan Jony, Khalashpir Bangabandhu Degree College Principal Mominul Islam and Shuvasangha Director Zakaria Jaman were present, among others.
Besides this, relief goods were also distributed among 300 families on the Mithapukur College premises in Rangpur the same day.
Speaking on the occasion, Mithapukur UNO Mamun Bhuiyan said, “I thank Shuvasangha for carrying out relief operation of Bashundhara Group. I offer special thanks to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan for standing by the helpless people of the country.”
Rozina Khatun, a vulnerable woman of the area, expressed satisfaction with the relief item which will be of great help for them.
Bashundhara Group distributed relief among 300 other vulnerable families in Rangpur Zila School field in Rangpur Sadar on Thursday.
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan has hailed Bashundhara Group for distributing relief amid the corona pandemic. He has thanked Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan for the noble initiative.
Begum Rokeya University Associate Prof Tabiur Rahman and Rangpur Zila School Headmaster Mizanur Rahman, among others, were present at the event.
Meanwhile, relief was also distributed among 300 distressed families at Gobindaganj in Gaibandha by Bashundhara Group the same day.
After receiving relief, Jomela Begum, a helpless woman, said, “I used to earn livelihood by working as a domestic help in different houses. Now, people are not allowing me to houses due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So, Bashundhara Group’s relief is of great help to me.”
Gobindaganj Mayor Mukitur Rahman, OC AKM Mehedi Hasan, Shuvasangha Director Zakaria Jaman, its general secretary Shamim Al Mamun, and member Sharif Mahdi Ashraf Jibon were present.
