Tourist police rescue 21 missing minors, hand them over to guardians

Tourist police haverescued 21 missing minors from different tourist spots of the country and handed them over to their guardians. 

The minor boys and girls went missing while they were visiting with their guardians, particularly parents, at the spots during the five-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday from June 27 to July 1.

Being informed, the members of the police unit rescued them and handed them over to their guardians during the period, said Additional SP (Admin and Finance) of Tourist Police Nadia Farzana on Tuesday.

Of the children, nine were rescued from Cox’s Bazar beach, five from Patengabeach, four from Kuakatabeach, one from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur, one from Rangpur Zoo and one  from National Zoo in the capital.

Nadia said members of the police unitalso arrested three persons for assaulting a tourist named Razib Sardar in Kuakatabeach on July 1.

A case was filed with Mohipur Police Station in this regard.

The police officer said over 20.91 lakh Bangladeshi tourists and 225 foreign ones flocked to different tourist spots throughout the country during the holiday.

Nadia Farzanasaid a total of 1,191 members against the sanctioned 1,394 are working at 40 zones of Tourist Police in 30 districts to ensure security to the tourists from home and abroad.
