A total of four Bangladeshi cricketers were picked by different franchises from the players’ draft event of the upcoming sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League on Monday.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan and uncapped pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury were roped in by Bangla Tigers for the upcoming season, scheduled to be held in UAE from November 23 to December 4.

Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman was picked by Team Abu Dhabi while right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed was brought in by Deccan Gladiators from the players’ draft event.

Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah and Afif Hossain, who also enrolled their names in the draft event, however, went unpicked.

Bangladesh T20 skipper Shakib Al Hasan earlier was picked as an icon cricketer by Bangla Tigers for the upcoming tournament.

The 35-year-old all-rounder earlier represented Kerala Kings during the maiden edition of the T10 League where his side became champions in the tournament.

However, Shakib had a dismal run in that tournament where he scored only seven runs in two innings and failed to get any wickets despite bowling in three matches.
