Ferries wait for vehicles at Daulatdia Ghat

RAJBARI: Ferries in Rajbari’s Daulatdia ghat were seen waiting for vehicles on Monday morning.

Some 2,715 vehicles, heading for Dhaka, crossed the river through the Daulatdia ghat in the last 24 hours. Of those, 450 were passenger transports, 1,135 freight trucks, 1,069 small cars and 70 motorcycles.

Around 11 am on Monday, there found no queues of vehicle and the ferries are waiting for transports.

Passengers and drivers at the ghat have expressed relief after reaching there in a moment without suffering and waiting. They thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for alleviating their sufferings by inaugurating Padma Bridge.

According to BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat sources, the inauguration of the Padma Bridge has reduced the suffering in Daulatdia Ghat point. Vehicles on the route are getting ferries on arrival.

A total of 21 ferries are plying on the Daulatdia-Paturia route.
