Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has dismissed as baseless the reports in Indian media that linked Bangladesh to the recent explosion in India’s capital, Delhi.
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday afternoon, Touhid Hossain said, “Whatever happens, Indian media tend to look for someone to blame. There is no reason to believe such claims. No sensible person would accept them.”
On Monday evening, an explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi killed 13 people. While the Indian government described it as an act of sabotage, it has yet to confirm who was responsible. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
However, several Indian media outlets have blamed Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba for the explosion, also alleging that the group used Bangladeshi territory to launch attacks in India.
