Transgender, acid victims to get job at DNCC

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Wednesday announced that they would appoint seven persons including two transgender people, two physically challenged persons, and two women burnt by acid in different posts of the city corporation.

He came up with the announcement while speaking at a programme titled ‘Sixteen Days of Activism’ at Justice Shahabuddin Park at Gulshan-2 in the capital.

The transgender people are Moinul Islam Anamika and Asif Newaz Megha while the acid victims are Nasrin Jahan and Lulu Mansura and the disabled persons are Sabina Yeasmin Shilpi and Sanjida Akther.

They will also offer jobs to Monir Hossain whose brother Mynuddin was killed by a DNCC waste carrying vehicle.

Atiqul also said that they were appointing the marginalized group to show respect to their rights.
