CHATTOGRAM: Journalists of the East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) working in Chattogram staged a protest against repeated assassination attempts on Bashundhara Group Managing Director and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited Chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

The demonstration was held in front of the Chattogram Press Club on Sunday afternoon.

Speakers at the event demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those who  were complicit in the attempts to assassinate the managing director of country’s leading business conglomerate.

The fates of over 500,000 people of 70,000 families are dependent on the business group, as it created employment opportunities for them, they said.

Conspiracies, lawsuits and assassination attempts proved that an anti-state syndicate is hatching plots against the conglomerate, said the journalists.
