Seven more people died of coronavirus infections and 305 cases were detected in the country during the last 24 hours till Friday morning.
The country’s coronavirus situation remains stable still as the daily infection rate has been reported below 4 percent for 30 days in a row.
No death and infection cases were reported in Mymensingh and Barishal divisions in the last 24 hours while no death was reported in total six divisions in the country during the time.
The daily coronavirus infection rate remains below 2 percent as 1.71 percent infection rate was reported on Friday while it was 1.50 percent on Thursday, 1.53 percent on Wednesday, 1.44 percent on Tuesday, 1.39 percent on Monday, 1.49 percent on Sunday, 1.85 percent on Saturday, 1.36 percent on Friday, 1.51 percent on Thursday and 1.80 percent on Wednesday.
For the 25th consecutive day the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent. The infection rate was below 4 percent for 30 days in a row and below 5 percent for last 39 consecutive days. The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for last 16 days in a row.
During the second wave of the coronavirus infection, the highest of 264 deaths was recorded in the country on August 5 and August 10 while the highest of 16,230 cases were reported on July 28.
The number of total infections has risen to 15,69,162 with the overall positivity rate 15.21 percent.
The number of death in a day remains below 50 for last 43 days in row and below 40 for 40 consecutive days with the declining of the infection and casualty simultaneously in the country.
Besides, the national death toll has increased to 27,854 with a case fatality rate of 1.78 per cent.
At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.69 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.
Some 271 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Friday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,32,966.
The DGHS said the coronavirus situation is worst in the capital as the highest corona infections were registered in Dhaka division in the last 24 hours.
Of the 7 fresh deaths, 3 deaths were reported in Dhaka division while one in Chattogram, one death was reported in Rajshahi, one in Khulna, one death in Barishal division and zero in Rangpur divisions while zero in Mymensingh and zero in Sylhet divisions in the last 24 hours.
Of the 305 new cases, 212 were logged in Dhaka division while 4 in Mymensingh, 34 in Chattogram, 14 in Rajshahi, 13 in Rangpur, 12 in Khulna, 4 in Barishal and 12 in Sylhet division.
A total of 17,811 samples, out of 17,605 collected, were tested at 833 labs in the country during the period. With this, 103,19,404 samples have so far been tested across the country.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
