Mushfiqur Rahim struck an unbeaten 70 off 91 balls to help Bangladesh A team register a six-wicket win over High Performance Unit during the first 50-over match at the Zahir Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Mushfiqur, who is taking part in the first two out of four-match series as part of his ICC T20 World Cup preparation plan, smashed six fours and a six during his knock while national discarded Imrul Kayes made 60 off 81 balls as Bangladesh A reached 252-4 in 47.5 overs after they were set a target of 248 runs.
Bangladesh T20 World Cup squad member Shamim Hossain, who represented HP Unit, could make only eight runs in the match.
Mosaddek Hossain was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh A, finishing with 4-31 while pacer Rubel Hossain claimed 2-32. The second match of the series will take place on Thursday at the same venue.
