BR to resume train services from Thursday

Bangladesh Railway (BR) will resume train services from Thursday after easing restrictions amid the corona situation in the country.

BR will start operating trains from July 15 leaving half of the seats vacant. Tickets will be available online from Tuesday, according to official of Ministry of Railways.

The ministry decided to start the train services after the announcement of easing the ongoing lockdown from July 15 to July 22 to prevent coronavirus infection.

“The passenger train will run from July 15 to July 22. The number of trains and its routes will be announced later,” Railway Ministry stockperson Shariful Alam told media on Monday.

Earlier on June 22, the Ministry of Railways announced the closure of passenger trains from Dhaka due to worsening coronavirus situation in the country.
