Lowest corona deaths in 8 months

8 more die, 656 cases detected

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) recorded the lowest number of death from coronavirus in eight months as only eight patients died in the country during the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

According to DGHS, 656 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Wednesday, raising the total number to 5,29,687.

Only eight more covid-19 patients died in a day and the total number of death from covid-19 disease has reached 7,950 in the country.

Some 617 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 4,74,472.

The DGHS data said the coronavirus death rate has stood at 1.50 percent. On the other hand, the recovery rate also has reached 89.58 percent, it added.

The health directorate said 15.13 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus till the date while 4.26 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day.

A total of 15,459 samples, out of 15,410 collected, were tested at 199 labs in the country during the period, the report added.

A total of 35,00,667 samples have been tested so far to detect coronavirus infection across the country.

The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
