Two killed as truck rams into bike in city

Two motorcyclists were killed when a running truck hit their bike in Khilkhet area of the capital on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Ajmin Khan, 25, and Amir Hossain Riaz, 20, both hailing from South Badda of the city.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, said the truck rammed into the motorcycle around 7am, leaving the two youths severely injured.

Police rescued them and took them to emergency unit of the DMCH where doctors declared them brought dead, he said.

Sub-inspector Sudhangshu Sarkar of Khilkhet Police Station said they seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.
