Twenty-three more people died of coronavirus while 1,308 new cases were detected during the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.
The coronavirus recovery rate has crossed 79 percent in the country as number of daily deaths and detection of new cases also has decreased.According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), some 1,544 coronavirus infected patients have made recovery from the disease in a day, raising the total number to 3,11,107.
“The recovery rate from Covid-19 disease has reached 79.01 percent in the country,” it said.
The DGHS said the number of coronavirus infection cases has reached 3,98,815 with the latest 1,308 infection cases detected in the last 24 hours.
It said the death toll from Covid-19 disease has risen to 5,803 and the total death rate stands at 1.46 percent in the country.
The health directorate said detection of new cases has decreased while the number of recovery cases has been increasing across the country.
A total of 11,103 samples, out of 11,757 collected, were tested at 110 labs in the country during the period, the report added.A total of 22,57,589 samples have been tested to detect coronavirus infection across the country.
The DGHS said 17.67 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus and 1.46 percent patients have died. Some 11.78 percent samples have been diagnosed with the disease in a day.
The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
