Artistes from ethnic communities enthrall audience

Artistes from different ethnic minority communities enthralled the audience by their traditional performances at a virtual cultural  programme on Thursday.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) organised the programme under its ‘Art Against Corona’ initiative. The programme was streamed live on the Facebook page of BSA. Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky delivered welcome speech at the event.

Artistes from the ethnic minority communities living in Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachari districts participated in the programme from their homes. They presented songs, poems and performed traditional dances.

Artistes Tanusri Manji, Jacklin Tanchangya, Riya Chakma, Anusri Chakma, Namrata Khisha, Janesh Chakma, Bawm Ram Amai, Urmi Tripura, Ukhyi Marma, Tisa Dewan Chakma and others from three hill districts performed at the programme.

Tanusri Manji commenced the event reciting a poem, ‘Desha Uchi Uchi Paharma Mithu Mithu Haowa’, in Gurkha language. She later recited a poem in Chamka language titled ‘Coch Pan’.

Then the other artistes enthralled the audience by their fabulous performances in the programme.
