CHATTOGRAM: A seven-member surveillance team was formed to ensure treatment of Covid and others patients at the private hospitals in the port city.
Chattogram Divisional Commissioner office announced the team headed by additional divisional commissioner (Development).Chattogram district civil surgeon was made member-secretary of the team which also comprises divisional director (Health), Chattogram Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner (North), Additional district magistrate and general secretaries of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Chattogram and Private Hospital, Clinic and Diagnostic Centre Association, Chattogram.
The team was formed as per decision of the meeting held between the administration and the Private Hospital and Clinic Owners Association at Chattogram Circuit House on Saturday last.
Decision to cancel license of the private hospitals which will refuse to provide treatment to any patient during this pandemic was also made.
The surveillance team will ensure the treatment of coronavirus and other patients at city’s private hospitals, said sources concerned.
Besides, legal actions will be taken against the private hospitals failing to comply with the directives.
The committee will accept any complaints regarding the issue and work on solving the problem according to the existing laws, the sources added.
