Three more crude bombs exploded in Mirpur-10 this evening

Miscreants set a bus of Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology on fire near Labaid Hospital in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area on Monday evening.
No casualties were reported in the incident that took place around 7:30pm.
Two firefighting units rushed to the spot, and firefighters were working to put out the blaze, said Khaleda Yasmin, duty officer at the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
However, the official could not say how the fire started on the bus.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Dhanmondi zone) told the media that several students of the university were on board, but they were able to get off safely as soon as the fire broke out.
Earlier, a bus of Victor Praribahan was set ablaze in the capital’s Shahjadpur area around 5:40am. Another bus of Akash Paribahan was also set on fire around 6:15am near BRAC University in Merul Badda.
Crude bombs explode in Mirpur
Meanwhile, three crude bombs went off in Mirpur-10 this evening. No casualties were reported.
The incident took place in front of Shah Ali Market around 6:30pm, according to the police.
They suspected that someone or a group of individuals might have exploded the crude bombs from the footbridge in the area.
CCTV footage is being analysed to identify the perpetrators, the police said.
Besides, another crude bomb blast occurred on the Khilgaon flyover around 6:30pm, they said.
Earlier in the day, seven crude bomb explosions took place at four locations in the city between morning and afternoon.
One occurred in front of the Grameen Bank headquarters in Mirpur and two at ‘Probortona’, the business entity of Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter on Sir Syed Road in Mohammadpur. One of those exploded in front of the premises and another inside.
In addition, two occurred in front of Midas Centre in Dhanmondi, and two more in front of Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhanmondi 9/A. However, no one was injured in any of these incidents.
