The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) celebrated its 15th founding anniversary on Thursday with a call to raising voice against corruption across the country.

The national anti-graft agency organized a discussion meeting at the commission’s headquarters in the capital’s Segunbagicha marking the anniversary.

Addressing as chief guest ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood said “The Commission’s activities will be open and transparent. We do not want to cover our failures and we do not want to say success but failure.”

He said “We are failed when our officers involved with immoral activities, they cannot finish the investigation in time, leaks information and they do not follow rules of investigation.”

“If you do these things honestly and efficiently, there is no chance of failing and it will also increase confidence of people on the commission.”

“Annual performance appraisal will be added instead of Annual Confidential Report (ACR) from January 1 in the ACC and everyone will have to follow it,” he said.

He also said “Officers who fail to perform their duties in accordance with the Annual Performance Appraisal, they have to be held accountable. Action will be taken against them as per rules.”
