CHATTOGRAM: Members of Detective Branch (DB) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) seized two trucks of pulse (chickpea) given to Rohingyas as relief from the city’s Khatunganj area on Saturday.

DB-men also detained manager Mohammad Hossain Rassel of the concerned firm ‘Messers New Khalek Traders’ in this connection.

Inspector Muhammad Ruhul Amin of the DB (North) said different government and non-government organisations provide the Rohingyas with different items including pulse as relief.

The Rohingyas sell the pulse through brokers and the ‘Khalek Traders’ attempted to collect the pulse for selling them in the open market, he said.
