Experts of the banking sectors at workshop on Monday emphasised to increase the capacity of the bank officials as they can able to work in line of the requirement of Bangladesh Bank.
They said that without enhancing the capacity of bank officials it is not possible to carry out new challenges in this sector.In this regard a joint initiative of Bangladesh Bank Training Academy (BBTA) and Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) is needed to enhance the competence of banks’ top officials and board members, they opined.
They came up with the remark at a workshop titled “Regulatory Reporting Requirement by Banks” held at the BIBM auditorium at Mirpur in the capital on Monday.
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Chairman of the Executive Committee of BIBM SM Moniruzzaman inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
Professor and Director (Training) of BIBM Dr Shah Md Ahsan Habib presented the research report in the workshop. Among others member of the research team are BIBM Professor Nehal Ahmed, Assistant Professor Tofail Ahmed, Deputy General Manager of Bangladesh Bank. Arifuzzaman, ASM Shahabuddin, Mohammad Anisur Rahman and Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Mohammed Saiful Islam.
BIBM chair professor and former professor of economics department of Dhaka University Barkat-e-Khoda said new challenges are coming to the banking sector. Need to develop skilled worker force.
