The government has decided to reopen all educational institutions from Sunday amid the ongoing heatwave.

Daily assemblies at these institutions will remain suspended until the heatwave becomes tolerable, says a notice issued by the Ministry of Education on Thursday.

Classes will be held on Saturdays to compensate for the educational gap resulting from the closures until further notice. All activities exposing students to direct sunlight must be limited.

Earlier, on 20 April, due to the ongoing heatwave conditions, the authorities concerned extended the closure of schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical education institutions across the country until 27 April.

These institutions were initially scheduled to reopen after the Eid holidays on 21 April.
