BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Friday claimed that there is no crisis inside the party.

‘BNP is not in crisis. With gesture of our leader Khaleda Zia, we, the standing committee members are running the party with directive of its acting chairman Tarique Rahman,’ he said.

The BNP leader came up with the statements while exchanging greetings with members of the Buddhist community on the occasion of Buddha Purnima at its chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital.

In the programme, Mosharraf also questioned the government why farmers are setting their Boro paddy fields on fire.

He said, ‘Getting frustration, farmers are setting their Boro field on fire as they are not getting fair price of their produce. It is an ominous sign for our country. But the government is bypassing the matter.’

Mosharraf said, ‘If the government would purchase paddy from farmers at high price then they wouldn’t burn it.’

He further said there is a rumor that the incident of rice import is taking place in a bid to give facility to the people those want to siphon off money abroad.

The BNP leader alleged that the country’s people are not safe under this government as there is no right to speak, no democracy in the country and voting rights of people.

The standing committee member also claimed that BNP’s popularity has increased across the country.

Among others, BNP standing committee members- Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, vice chairmen Selima Rahman and Barkatullah Bulu, were present.
