Fire Service plays active role during elections

Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) was active in preventing fire violence throughout the country on Sunday on the occasion of 11th parliament elections.

Following the directives of the FSCD Director General (DG) Brigadier General Ali Ahmad Khan, fire-fighters and two wheelers was deployed near every polling centres in the capital and across the country.

In order to provide quick response, in the midst of every zone of the metropolitan cities, water tender and fire-fighters have been also deployed.

Rapid rescue units were deployed at various important points and 90 points in the highways of the country. Besides, 349 fire stations have been kept in standby duty till further notice. The usual daily work of the station was on.

Fire services division and district offices have been regularly coordinated with the district and upazila returning officers so that they can be responded in the shortest possible time as per their needs.

FSCD DG Brigadier General Ali Ahmad Khan held a post-election meeting with the senior officials of the department at fire headquarters on Sunday evening.

FSCD DG thanked all for carrying out the responsible to prevent the violence. All the units will perform their duties at different places until further notice.

Major AKM Shakil Newaz, Director (Operations and Maintenance), and other officials were also present during the meeting.
