Coronavirus death toll tops 60,000 as cases sharply rise

The global death toll from COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus jumped to 60,353 on Saturday.

It has so far infected 1,132,733 people around the world, according to worldometer.

Of them, 836,388 are currently being treated with 39,594  being in serious or critical condition.
So far, 235,992  people have recovered.


On Saturday, Bangladesh reported its eighth coronavirus death and Nine new cases. The country has so far confirmed 70 cases.

Coronavirus, first reported in China in December last year, is affecting 200 countries and territories around the world and two international cruise ships.

The World Health Organization on March 11 declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic.
