After four top public universities, the authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) decided not to adopt uniform admission system proposed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) last December.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the university's Academic Council on Tuesday afternoon, says media report citing acting JU registrar Rahima Kaneez.The university will enroll the students as per its own admission process, she said.
Jahangirnagar University took the decision a day after Dhaka University and Rajshahi University on Monday took decision of not adopting the uniform admission test.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Chattogram University also took similar decisions.
Mentionable, the UGC took the decision to hold uniform admission test at a meeting with vice chancellors of public universities on January 23.
