Two brothers were killed and some 10 other persons injured in clashes between two rival groups over land dispute at Sanandabari Lambapara village in Dewanganj upazila of Jamalpur on Friday and early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Yusuf Ali, 45 and Abdul Jalil, 33, sons of Haran Haji of the village.

On Friday morning, the clashes broke out around 10:00am when a group of people, led by former UP member Jaker Ali, went to Sanandabari Lambapara village with local weapons to take control over a piece of land. Haran Haji and his sons protested the group leading the clashes.
