Cooking possible without onion as parliament formed without voting: Gayeshwar

Terming the skyrocketing onion prices artificial, BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Friday said cooking is also possible without this essential ingredient if parliament can be formed through elections without the participation of the voters.

He came up with the remark while addressing a memorial meeting of former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation and BNP vice chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka as chief guest at Jatiya Press Club in the city.

Nagorik Odhikar Andolon Forum, a pro-BNP platform, organised the meeting and doa mahfil for BNP leader Khoka.

He said, “Market manipulation by a syndicate is responsible for the increasing prices of onions.”

Gayeshwar also urged BNP leaders and activists to get united and ready to take to the streets for releasing their party’s chairperson Khaleda Zia.
