India is keeping a close watch on the proposed joint military exercise by China and Bangladesh, which will be held in May.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Randhir Jayswal said this in a weekly briefing on Thursday.
He said, “India always keeps a close watch on what is happening in our neighbourhood. Appropriate action would be taken if it affected India's security situation.”
China’s Defence Ministry spokesperson announced on Thursday that China and Bangladesh will hold their first joint military training in May to deepen practical exchanges and cooperation. According to People’s Daily, the PLA Army will send a contingent to Bangladesh for their training set against the backdrop of UN peacekeeping and counter-terrorism missions.
Regarding the protest organised by the BNP and JAMAT against India in front of the Indian High Commission in London, the MEA spokesperson said, “We have observed some media reports, but we don’t have the details. If we get details, we will address them accordingly.”
