The Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) celebrated its 34th founding anniversary on Thursday.
The celebrations took place at TSC amid much enthusiasm and joy.Leaders and members of DUJA brought out a procession led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, DUJA President Abir Rayhan, and General Secretary Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir.
A cake was cut on the occasion at TSC by VC Akhtaruzzaman.
Reminding the reporters of the important role they play, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said: “DUJA has been playing the role of watchdog. It’s been working to uphold democratic practices.”
Mentioning the objective of journalists, the vice-chancellor said journalists bring forth many issues and crisis faced by the university. The works of the young journalists positively influence the university administration.
DUJA President Rayhan said: “The young journalists are playing an important role in ensuring quality of higher education at the Dhaka University.”
