Nephew stabs uncles to death in Pabna

A youth stabbed his two uncles to death following family feud at Beturia village of Sujanagar upazila in Pabna.

The deceased were identified as Abu Taleb, 52, and Abul Kalam, sons of Abdus Samad of the village. The alleged killer was their nephew Ripon, 22, son of Abu Hanif,  who is the third sibling of the deceased.

Sirajul Islam Shahjahan, chairman of Dulai Union Parishad, said family members of Abu Hanif and Abul Kalam engaged in an altercation over the ownership of a tree at 9pm on June 26.

At one stage, angered Ripon stabbed his uncles and two other people leaving them injured critically.

They were rushed to Pabna General Hospital where doctors pronounced Abul Kalam dead and referred Abu Taleb to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

However, Abu Taleb succumbed to his injury in RMCH on early Thursday.

Hadiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar Police Station, said they arrested Ripon immediately after the incident as a case was filed regarding the incident. He was sent to Pabna Jail.
