After 17 months of the formulation of ride-sharing service providing guidelines, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has set July 1 to start registration of ride-sharing companies.
Ride-sharing apps—Uber, Pathao and other apps—were asked to register their apps soon. The data and other records of ride sharing service providers will be scrutinised during the registration process. BRTA will take complaints in cognisance against these service providers once they are registered.BRTA director (administration) Yusub Ali Mollah confirmed the matter.
At first, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will issue licence to service providers and later to the drivers and riders, BRTA officials said. All the process will be completed online, they said.
