Preparations complete for national polls in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI: All preparations have been taken in the five constituencies of Narsingdi to hold the national election on December 30 in a free, fair and peaceful manner, reports BSS.

District administration organised a press conference at Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday to present the preparation of the election, with Deputy Commissioner Seyda Farhana Kawnane in the chair.

Addressing the press conference, Deputy Commissioner and also returning officer of Naringdi Seyda Farhana Kawnane said congenial election atmosphere is prevailing in all the five constituencies of the district.

She informed journalists that all the officials, including election officers, executive magistrates and members of the law enforcement agencies, are rendering services for holding the polls in a free, fair and peaceful manner.

The Deputy Commissioner sought cooperation from all for peaceful holding of the national election following the guidelines and instructions of the Election Commission.

A total of 33 candidates are contesting in the five constituencies of the district, she said, adding that 15,51,970 voters would cast their votes in 633 polling centres in the district.

A total of 633 presiding officers, 3144 assistant presiding officers and 6288 polling officers have appointed for conducting the election.
