A Chinese technology company plans to set up a mobile phone assembling factory in Bangladesh to grab the fast-growing smartphone market.
In this end, Banglatronics Technology Limited signed a lease agreement with Summit Technopolis for setting up mobile assembling factory at Kaliakoir in Gazipur.Summit Technopolis Managing Director Abu Reza Khan and Banglatronics Technology Chairman Kevin Wang signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisarions.
The outlay of about US$ 2 million investment initially to be raised up to US$ 15 million in phases with potential to employ about 500 local engineers in full capacity.
A delegation from Shandong’s province of China Dezhou Economic and Technological Development Zone visited head office of Summit Technopolis. The team was led by E Hongda, Director of Administration Committee of Shandong’s Dezhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The key objective of the delegation is to understand the business environment of Bangladesh.
