Leaders of Juktofront on Tuesday demanded that the Election Commission not delay announcing the schedule for the 11th parliamentary elections without any reason.
They made the demand during a meeting with the Election Commissioners led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda at Nirbachan Bhaban in city’s Agargaon in the capital.
A six-member delegation led by Juktofront leader and Bikalpodhara Secretary General Major (retd) Abdul Mannan met with the commissioners this evening.
The other members of the delegation included Bikalpodhara presidium member Golam Sarwar Milan, Vice President Mahmuda Chowdhury and Organising Secretary Barrister Omar Faruque, Bangladesh NAP Chairman Jevel Rahman and Juktofront leader Mazharul Haque Shah Chowdhury.
During the meeting, the Juktofront leaders said the delay in declaring polls schedule will create confusion and frustration among the countrymen which is not expected.
They also demanded that the EC take all out preparations for holding the polls in a credible manner.
