With the vision of building a just and prosperous society, WAVE Foundation, a leading non-governmental development organisation in Bangladesh, is set to celebrate its 35th anniversary through a series of special programmes and initiatives.
Founded on 24 April 1990, WAVE began its journey with the motto “Together for Better Life.” Since its inception, the organisation has championed the cause of the poor and marginalised, implementing multifaceted programmes focused on socio-economic upliftment, human rights, and good governance.
Reflecting on the milestone, WAVE Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, Mohsin Ali, said, “On the glorious occasion of WAVE Foundation’s 35th anniversary, I extend heartfelt gratitude to all our incredible employees, stakeholders and well-wishers. Since 1990, WAVE has evolved through continuous learning and adaptation-transforming challenges into opportunities and emerging as a resilient force for justice and prosperity. This journey, shaped by our collective strength, reflects our shared vision for an equitable society. Together, we have made meaningful progress, and together, we will continue unfolding the future.”
As WAVE steps into its next chapter, the organisation remains committed to supporting Bangladesh’s national development plans and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring no one is left behind.
Among its flagship programmes, the “Governance, Rights and Justice” initiative stands out for its issue-based policy advocacy and national campaigns. Through this platform, the Foundation actively implements two significant networks: Food Rights Bangladesh and the Governance Advocacy Forum. These networks drive public discourse through dialogues, seminars, consultations, and campaigns, engaging a wide range of stakeholders including policymakers, civil society members, and grassroots organisations.
