BTRC asks Teletalk to pay Tk1,848cr dues shortly

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) directed Teletalk Bangladesh to pay outstanding fees and others worth Tk18.48 billion to the regulator within a “short timeline”.
The telecom regulator’s Finance, Accounts and Revenue Department held a meeting with the top brass of the state-run mobile network operator at the BTRC head office in the capital's Agargaon on Thursday.
They discussed ways to address the issues of paying license fees, revenue sharing money and payment to the social responsibility fund.
BTRC’s Finance, Accounts and Revenue Department also held a meeting with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL), which owns Teletalk, regarding “customer satisfaction” and new features of “Alap” application of the state-run company.
With BTRC commissioner Musfiq Mannan Choudhury in the chair, Teletalk Bangladesh managing director Habibur Rahman and BTCL managing director Anwar Hossain and BTRC director Aftab Md Rashedul Wadud were present at the meeting.
Teletalk's chief executive pledged at the meeting that the operator would pay the dues within the “timeline”.
BTRC also asked the BTCL to pay all dues including sending all data related to ISIX, NTTN, IPTSP and PSTN to BTRC, developing innovative products, and taking initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
