Bangladesh E-commerce Summit was held on Sunday focusing on multi-sector collaboration towards a sustainable ecosystem to tap hidden potential of the digital economy in the country.
Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) hosted the second edition of the conference in association with E-commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-Cab) and Aspire to Innovate (a2i) programme of the government.
Asia Marketing Federation president Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, A2i project director Dr. Dewan M Humayun Kabir, BASIS president Russell T Ahmed and Bangladesh Bank additional director Rafeza Akhter Kanta were also present in different sessions.
The summit brought together industry professionals, decision-makers, and thought leaders from the e-commerce sector to discuss and share insights on the profoundly emerging e-commerce industry in Bangladesh.
The summit featured an engaging agenda comprising four keynote sessions, three panels, two insight sessions, two case studies and one policy dialogue. Speakers at the conference suggested exploring opportunities in domestic and cross-border logistic solutions for e-commerce, and building a successful strategy for “direct-to-consumer service.
International marketing agency Kantar insight division director Biswapriya Bhattacharjee, ACCCIM digital economy committee deputy chairman Dato’ Eric Ku Yee Fei, Reckitt former global marketing director Zakaria Baig and Asia Marketing Federation first vice president Jake Yao presented keynote papers in the sessions.
In her speech, E-Cab president Shomi Kaiser acknowledged the potential of digital platforms in Bangladesh's rapidly emerging e-commerce scene.
“It’s our responsibility to implement these developments effectively in our e-commerce sector. This platform will touch all the integral aspects of modern e-commerce and help the industry grow," he said.
In the insight sessions, speakers gave insights on e-commerce using generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) technology in market communications and social platforms like Facebook.
