COX’S BAZAR: Despite the loss of their beloved mother, two sisters mustered up the courage to appear for the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams on Tuesday in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar, reports UNB.
A tale of fortitude of the sisters emerged in the district and many lauded them for their determination. Other examinees were moved by their determination and became emotional over the issue.
“The sisters transcended their bereavement and took on the exam with determination,” said Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Kamruzzaman.
Grieved, Jahir said his wife had been suffering from illness for the last one month and hospitalised at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital when her condition worsened. She breathed her last around 3am.
“Though my daughters took today’s exam after being shocked by the loss of their mother, a day before they sat for their examinations with courage and enthusiasm,” he said with tears.
They (daughters) didn’t agree to attend the exam keeping their mother at home, he said, adding that finally they took on the exam with the bereavement.
“Allah knows better how my daughters will take on the next exams with the grievance that struck them mentally,” he regretted.
