BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said everyone must adhere to the consensus reached after long discussions, warning that going beyond it will only deepen division in politics and society.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the newly built Engineer Abdul Khalek Auditorium of the Chattogram Press Club on Friday.
In his speech, Khasru said that a political dialogue had taken place based on consensus.
Such dialogue not only strengthens democracy but also advances society as a whole.
“Over the past 15 years, we have moved far away from engaging in dialogue with one another and have become detached from the democratic process. We must overcome this division through dialogue,” he said.
“We will hold dialogue and reach as much consensus as possible. Whatever remains unresolved should be accepted with tolerance,” said the veteran leader.
Speaking about the concept of a “New Bangladesh,” the BNP leader observed that no government alone can build it.
“Everyone’s participation and accountability are essential. If every person contributes positively from their positions, the nation will move forward,” he added.
