A living exhibition and an open workshop titled ‘Learning from Puran Dhaka: The Urbanity of Occupations along the Buriganga Riverfront’ is underway at La Galerie of the Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the capital.
A long-running heritage initiative, ‘River Heritage: Learning from Puran Dhaka,’ is in its third chapter, led by the EUNIC cluster in Bangladesh (Alliance Française, Goethe-Institut, British Council, Spanish Embassy) and the EU Delegation in Bangladesh with support from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bangladesh.
Throughout this workshop and exhibition, drawings, maps, sketches, observations, and photographs of Old Dhaka are being exhibited by students.
Under this project, an open discussion will be held today 4:00pm at La Galerie.
Forty-nine students and 10 faculties from École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-La Villette, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Architecture, College of Architecture Trivandrum, Department of Architecture-BUET and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute will take part in the discussion.
Students will share their experiences and findings about their journey during the workshop and followed by a panel discussion.
Inaugurated on February 4, ‘Learning from Puran Dhaka’ will continue till February 20.
