CHATTOGRAM: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has urged the party leaders and activists to get united to restore democracy through ousting the present government.

He also called upon them to take part in the march at union levels on February 11, as part of the countrywide programme announced by the party.

The BNP senior leader, as the chief guest, said these while addressing the Chattogram Divisional Rally in front of their party office of Nasimon Bhaban in the city’s Kazir Dewri area on Saturday.

Local BNP organised the programme as its central programme to press home their 10-point demand.

Terming Chattogram as holy land for BNP, Nazrul Islam Khan said their movement will continue to oust the government.

“Mass people are suffering due to the uncontrolled price hike of commodities while price of electricity has been increased twice in a single month,” he said.

Presided by BNP City unit convener Dr Shahadat Hossain, vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman attended the rally as the key-speaker.

BNP vice chairman Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin, the party chairperson’s Advisor Zainul Abdin Farroque, Golam Akbar Khandaker, Abul Khair Bhuiyan, Joynal Abedin, SM Fazlul Haque, joint secretary General AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and organising secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim also attended the rally as the special guests.
