Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2023 will reflect the success stories of the country’s mega development projects as well as the glorious history of the independence struggle led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to formally inaugurate the second edition of the mega trade show on January 1, 2023 at Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, the outskirts of the capital.

“Around 80 percent of work in the fair has been completed. We tried to focus on the development of the government's infrastructural projects for the fair this year. For example, the gate is being designed depicting Metro Rail,” DITF Director Iftikher Ahmed Chowdhury told the media.

Businesses from different countries including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Turkey will participate in the fair in-person. Besides, participants from China, Pakistan, Iran, Vietnam, Maldives and Malaysia will join virtually.

There will be 331 stalls including 54 pavilions at the fair organised by Export Promotion Bureau  (EPB) under the Ministry of Commerce.

The in-hall cafeteria has capacity to accommodate 500 participants at a time while 23 food corners will serve dishes inside the fair.

Dutch Bangla Bank, Islami Bank Bangladesh, Janata Bank and Mercantile Bank will provide financial services at the fair.

Four teams will conduct a mobile court at the DITF for ensuring security and management of the fair while significant numbers of closed circuit cameras will keep real time monitoring.

The entry fee for the DITF is Tk 40 for an adult and Tk 20 for children while the expo arena will be open from 9 am to 10 pm every day for the visitors.  There will be special bus services from the capital's Kuril area.
