The government will buy paddy directly from farmers in 272 upazilas through ‘Krishaker App’ in this current Aman season.
The Directorate General of Food has already sent letters to regional food controllers of Dhaka, Khulna, Rangpur, Chattogram, Sylhet, Barishal, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh and gave instructions to implement the decision.
To prevent the anarchy of middlemen, this initiative has been taken to collect food grains from the farmers directly through the digital method.
To get registered in the app, the authorities concerned have fixed a deadline of November 30 and asked farmers to apply for sale of paddy through the app.
The letter reads it has been decided to implement “Krishaker App” in the form of pilot in 272 selected upazilas across the country in the upcoming 2022-23 Aman seasons.
It has also asked the designated officials to inform the process of registration of paddy selling through app among the farmers.
The Directorate General of Food has arranged training for all concerned UNO, Upazila Agriculture Officers along with the designated officers-employees concerned of the Food Directorate at the field level must ensure participation in the virtual workshop through Zoom.
The posters and leaflets prepared from the website should be put up at various important places of the upazila, markets, opposite the main gate of the mosque and visible places.
It has also asked the officials concerned to distribute the leaflets at mosques, temples, local markets and teashops.
