BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the party will give a formula on election-time caretaker government system in line with the scrapped 13th amendment of the constitution.
“In our formula (of caretaker government), there will remain article 58(B) (C) that were included in the 13th amendment of the constitution. This outline will be made in line with that (13th amendment)," he said.
The talks took place at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital on Thursday.
As part of their second phase of talks with opposition parties, Mirza Fakhrul sat with Labour Party at 10am and with NPP at 11am.
“You (journalists) will know about formula on caretaker government in time. You will also know about our simultaneous movement after starting it,” the BNP secretary general said.
He said they discussed the common demands of forging the simultaneous movement with the two opposition parties.
The BNP secretary general they agreed common demands including resignation of the current Awami League government, formation of election time caretaker government system, dissolving parliament and reconstitution of the election commission.
