Around one crore children already registered online to receive the coronavirus vaccine across the country including in Dhaka city.
The government will start inoculating children aged 5 years to 11 years against coronavirus, in the country this month. Health authority sources said it has planned to inoculate around 2.2 crore children initially with the Pfizer vaccine specially made for children.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said the vaccination will take place initially in Dhaka city and later it will be held across the country.
“It is not possible to vaccinate all the children in the country with the amount of vaccine that we have at this moment. We will initially administer the vaccine in the capital,” Prof Dr Khurshid Alam, director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
