A Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Monday that they are not losing their sleep over other franchise-based T20 tournaments which will be held during the same time frame of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League.
The upcoming BPL is slated in January and February next year and during that time, Big Bash, South African T20 League, UAE T20 League and Pakistan Super League are also expected to be staged in different parts of the world.
“All the member countries have an understanding between them because NOC is related to it and everyone follows it. I don’t think any player would leave a competition of his own country and play a domestic tournament elsewhere,” he added.
Meanwhile, Nizamuddin said that they are yet to finalize the express of interest for the franchises, which are keen to take part in the upcoming edition of BPL.
The BCB earlier said that they would give a three-year contract to the franchises for the competition that would have seven teams from the next season.
“We will publish the EOI very soon and we will give the guidelines for the franchises and the time frame of the agreement. We are hoping that the teams that were with us in the past will continue,” Nizamuddin said.
“We will try to finalize everything according to the guideline of the board and will also make sure the franchises get adequate time to prepare,” he added.
