Bangladesh middle-order batsman Yasir Ali is unlikely to take part in the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe due to his injury.
Bangladesh team are expected to travel to Zimbabwe on July 27 to play three ODIs and as many T20s but according to a member of the selection panel, the right-handed batsman will not be able to make it.
Yasir was injured during a three-day practice match against the Cricket West Indies President’s XI in Antigua on June 10 and later, he was ruled out from the series after an MRI revealed he sustained Discogenic Back Pain on the Lumbar spine.
BCB medical board members said that the right-handed batsman began his rehabilitation and they are looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin is also not available for the Zimbabwe tour as he is yet to recover from his back injury.
“I will try to see if I can get a place in the Asia Cup,” Saifuddin told the reporters on Monday.
