Popular pop singer and film director Ferdous Wahid has been admitted to hospital after he suffered a heart attack. Filmmaker Mustafizur Rahman Manik confirmed the news on Friday through a Facebook post.

“Popular pop singer and filmmaker Ferdous Wahid is undergoing treatment at Birdem hospital in the capital. He suffered a heart attack on Thursday night.  Please pray for his speedy recovery,” the post reads.

Ferdous Wahid is a popular pop singer of the country. He started his music career in the 1970s. The singer has lent his vocal to the songs for over 50 films and has also released 23 single music albums.

Some of his popular renditions include ‘Ogo Tumi Jey Amar Koto Priyo’, ‘Ei Jey Duniya Kishero Lagiya’, ‘Ek Paharadar’ and ‘Mamoniya’, among others.

Ferdous Wahid also a film director. He made his directorial debut with the film ‘Kusumpurer Golpo’ in 2013.
