Bangladesh Tigers in pole position

Bangladesh Tigers were in a relatively better position after the end of the third day’s play of the lone four-day practice-match against High Performance Unit at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam claimed three wickets to force HP Unit to finish the penultimate day at 123-4 in their second innings after Bangladesh Tigers made 318 runs in their first innings.

HP Unit is currently leading Bangladesh Tigers by 32 runs. Shahadat Hossain and Aich Mollah will start the proceedings today as they remained unbeaten on 30 and eight runs respectively.

HP Unit openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Mahfijul Islam also made 33 and 27 runs respectively.

Earlier, resuming an overnight score of 194-6, Bangladesh Tigers were able to take a 91-run lead in the first innings after Fazle Mahmud struck 89 runs while Naeem Islam (21) and Tanvir (23 not out) made useful contributions for the side.

Pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury finished with 3-48 while Mukidul Islam and Ripon Mondol took two wickets each. HP Unit made 227 runs in their first innings after being sent into bat first.
