Cox's Bazar Development Authority (CoxDA) Chairman Forkan Ahmed has won the national integrity award, as the agency ranked number one among the 12 departments under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
Housing and Public Works State Minister Sharif Ahmed and Secretary Shahid Ullah Khandaker jointly handed over the award to the chairman at the Secretariat in the capital on Wednesday.
He expressed the hope that the CoxDA would continue to have success in days to come.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Shahid Ullah said CoxDA has consistently achieved unprecedented success in implementing the annual performance agreement and other action plan.
Forkan Ahmed, also a retired lieutenant colonel of Bangladesh Army, said this award will make them to be more responsible.
“Many people are in the dark about Cox’s Bazar Development Authority as it is a new institution. I went door to door to inform people. Our innovative initiative aims to make it easier for people to get services,” he said.Forkan said the authority has taken a master plan to turn Cox’s Bazar into a modern tourist destination within the next two years.
At the event, the CoxDA also signed an annual performance agreement (APA) for the fiscal year 2022-23.
